Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making beyoufull.org and its information, resources and digital services accessible to as many people as reasonably possible.

Digital inclusion

Our accessibility commitment

BE(YOU)FULL CIC wants its website, information and digital interactions to be clear, usable and inclusive.

This statement applies to the public website at beyoufull.org. It explains our accessibility approach, the standard we are working towards, current limitations and how to request support or report a barrier.

Accessibility is an ongoing organisational responsibility. We consider it when designing pages, preparing documents, selecting third-party platforms and developing new digital services.

Statement version 2.0 Last updated: 11 July 2026 Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA Company number 16792853
Accessibility principles

A website people can perceive, operate and understand

Our accessibility work is informed by the four principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Perceivable

Information should be available in forms that people can identify and perceive.

Operable

Navigation and controls should work without requiring one particular method of interaction.

Understandable

Content, navigation and instructions should be clear and reasonably predictable.

Robust

Content should work across current browsers, devices and assistive technologies where reasonably possible.

Chapter one

Scope, responsibility and accessibility standard

What this statement covers and the standard BE(YOU)FULL CIC is working towards.

1 Scope

This statement applies to the public website at beyoufull.org .

It covers public pages, website navigation, forms, publications, downloadable resources and embedded digital content that BE(YOU)FULL CIC controls.

Separate platforms operated by another organisation may have their own accessibility arrangements and statements.

2 Accessibility target

BE(YOU)FULL CIC is working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

This standard informs our approach to:

  • page structure and heading order;
  • keyboard navigation and visible focus;
  • text size, spacing and colour contrast;
  • alternative text for meaningful images;
  • form labels, instructions and error messages;
  • link and button purpose;
  • responsive layouts and content reflow;
  • video captions and text alternatives;
  • motion, animation and user preferences; and
  • compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies.

3 Organisational responsibility

Accessibility applies to both website development and organisational practice.

We aim to consider accessibility when:

  • publishing or revising website content;
  • creating reports, PDFs and downloadable resources;
  • selecting plugins and third-party platforms;
  • commissioning design or development work;
  • planning forms, applications and registrations;
  • producing video, audio and visual media; and
  • responding to individual accessibility requirements.
Chapter two

The experience we are working to provide

Practical ways in which visitors should be able to use and understand the website.

4 Using the website

We aim for visitors to be able to:

  • navigate the main website using a keyboard;
  • identify links and interactive controls;
  • move through pages using a logical heading structure;
  • resize text and zoom through browser controls;
  • use the website on desktop, tablet and mobile devices;
  • read content with sufficient text and background contrast;
  • understand the purpose of forms, links and buttons;
  • access meaningful text alternatives for relevant images; and
  • use common screen readers and other assistive technologies where reasonably possible.

5 Language and content

We aim to write public information in clear and direct language while retaining the professional and educational meaning of BE(YOU)FULL CIC’s work.

Where specialist language is necessary, we aim to provide enough explanation or context for the intended audience.

Page titles, headings, links and instructions should describe their purpose rather than relying only on visual placement.

6 Documents and media

We aim to make new public documents accessible by using:

  • proper document titles and language settings;
  • structured headings and reading order;
  • meaningful link text;
  • alternative text for relevant graphics;
  • readable typography and contrast;
  • appropriately structured tables; and
  • captions, transcripts or equivalent information for relevant audio and video.

Alternative format: where a public document is difficult to access, contact us and explain the format or adjustment required. We will consider the request and provide a reasonable alternative where practicable.

Chapter three

Current accessibility position and limitations

An honest account of the website’s present assessment position and areas requiring further work.

7 Current conformance position

BE(YOU)FULL CIC is working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

The website has not yet been subject to a complete independent accessibility audit covering every page, component, document and user journey. We therefore do not currently claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance.

Current status: accessibility is being incorporated into the continuing redesign and governance of beyoufull.org. The statement will be revised when a fuller audit provides reliable evidence about conformance and remaining defects.

8 Potential limitations

Areas that may not yet provide a fully accessible experience include:

  • older pages created before the current website design system;
  • older PDF publications or scanned documents that may lack complete tagging or reading order;
  • images that may require improved alternative text;
  • embedded video or audio that may not yet include complete captions or transcripts;
  • content supplied by external platforms, plugins or partners;
  • complex diagrams or framework images that may require longer text descriptions;
  • form controls or error messages generated by third-party systems; and
  • isolated colour contrast, focus or keyboard-navigation issues.

The presence and severity of these issues will be confirmed through testing rather than assumed.

9 Third-party services

The website may include services or embedded content provided by organisations such as:

  • video and social-media platforms;
  • booking, application or survey providers;
  • mapping or location services;
  • payment or donation providers;
  • newsletter and communication systems; and
  • document and file-hosting platforms.

BE(YOU)FULL CIC does not control every technical element of an external service. We will nevertheless consider accessibility when selecting and reviewing third-party platforms and will seek a reasonable alternative where an external tool creates a material barrier.

10 Improvement programme

Our continuing accessibility work may include:

  • reviewing priority pages and user journeys;
  • testing keyboard navigation and visible focus;
  • checking colour contrast and responsive content reflow;
  • reviewing headings, labels, links and alternative text;
  • improving new and high-priority downloadable documents;
  • reviewing forms and third-party integrations;
  • considering feedback from disabled users and participants; and
  • updating this statement when the website or assessment position materially changes.
Chapter four

Feedback, adjustments and contact

How to report an accessibility barrier or request information in another format.

11 Reporting an accessibility problem

Contact BE(YOU)FULL CIC if:

  • you cannot access part of the website;
  • a form, link, button or menu does not work with your assistive technology;
  • you find a document difficult to read or navigate;
  • video or audio content does not include an appropriate alternative;
  • you identify a keyboard, focus, contrast or screen-reader problem; or
  • you require information in another accessible format.

When reporting a problem, it is helpful to include:

  • the page or document involved;
  • a description of the problem;
  • the browser or device being used;
  • the assistive technology involved, where relevant; and
  • the format or adjustment that would help.

12 Alternative formats and reasonable adjustments

Requests may include information in:

  • an accessible digital document;
  • plain text;
  • large print;
  • an alternative structured format;
  • a transcript or written summary; or
  • another reasonable format appropriate to the information and the person’s requirements.

We will consider the individual request, the purpose and urgency of the information, available technology and what is reasonable and practicable in the circumstances.

13 Responding to feedback

Accessibility reports will be reviewed and directed to the person responsible for the relevant content or website function.

We will aim to:

  • acknowledge the issue;
  • understand the barrier and its impact;
  • identify a temporary alternative where appropriate;
  • determine whether a technical or content correction is required;
  • communicate what action can reasonably be taken; and
  • use recurring issues to improve future website work.

14 Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with the way an accessibility issue or adjustment request has been handled, explain the concern in writing and ask for it to be reviewed by BE(YOU)FULL CIC.

Nothing in this statement affects rights or remedies available under applicable equality or discrimination law.

15 Preparation and review

This statement was prepared as part of the continuing institutional and accessibility review of beyoufull.org.

It will be reviewed by July 2027, or earlier where:

  • a material website redesign takes place;
  • a formal accessibility audit is completed;
  • significant accessibility defects are identified;
  • a new major digital service is introduced; or
  • relevant standards or legal requirements change.
